Editor's Heart for April 2022

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

~ Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)
The Bible has a LOT to say about our thought life and how we are to handle the thoughts that come into our minds. We are told to take captive our thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:5), that how we think determines who we are (Proverbs 23:6-7), not to think too highly of ourselves (Romans 12:3), and to set our minds on heavenly things (Colossians 3:2). The verse above (Philippians 4:8) gives us a whole list of characteristics that we should use to measure and evaluate our thought life... but the very first one should give us plenty to think on: Whatsover things are TRUE! Period.

There is so much in our world that is simply not true. And the Scripture is plain, we MUST meditate on what is true. But with so much media bombarding our minds, how do we know what is true? That's actually very simple. To gauge a truth, we measure it by THE truth: the Word of God. No matter how comfortable, how pleasing, how desirable a thing is, if it cannot stand up as truth in the light of God's Word, then it's just not true at all. We must let God's Word be our plumb line. We must measure our hearts and minds against the only absolute truth. If your plumb line is not straight, the whole building will be tilting and slanting and will eventually tumble over. Measure your thought life! Think on the truth!
If it's not TRUE, cast it down... don't even think about it!

Praise Reports

The March mission trip to Kingston Springs, TN, was enlightening. The atmosphere in Kingston Springs was meant to declare, "We are fine just the way we are." Some store managers allowed us to go in, some individual people allowed us to speak to them, but it was more of a politeness. The overall feeling was that they would listen but didn't really need to receive what we were saying. While in Kingston Springs, the Lord also led the team to take a short trip to Nashville which was nearby. In Nashville, one woman stated, "No one here will listen to you." But the Lord cast down that lie and three people were led to Christ in Nashville!

As the Repentance Call mission trips go forth, God is revealing strongholds in these locations so the body of Christ can be aware and informed. Continue to pray for the Kingston Springs area to have their spiritual eyes, ears, and hearts opened to receive the truth.
