Editor's Heart for May 2022
[Jesus said,] "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all [who are] in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

We know that Jesus said "I am the light of the world," but we forget the part that says, "as long as I am IN the world". In the Scripture above, He clearly taught His followers that WE are the light of the world. How is that even possible? you may ask. As Christians, we believe... no, we KNOW... that when we were born again, the Holy Spirit came to dwell in us and transform us into the image of Christ. Not only that, the Scriptures clearly teach that Christ is actually IN us (Galatians 2:19-20; Ephesians 3:14-19; Colossians 1:27; and others). Therefore, because THE LIGHT of the world is now living in us, WE are the light of the world. And we are called... required... commanded... to let that light shine in the darkness of this world. If you've ever thought about how utterly dark and evil our world seems, then think on this: It may only take a little light to pierce the darkness, but that light will appear very dim if it's only a little light. Let's resolve today to TURN UP our light. Put your light on BRIGHT! And let's band together as believers, combining our lights and letting the Light of Jesus Christ within us overcome the darkness wherever we are!

Praise Reports
The HOPE Louisiana event, Love Doesn't Hurt, was BEAUTIFUL! Prophetess Kaygel Nelson shared her personal testimony of surviving domestic abuse (and attempted murder, actually). It was such a message of hope for those who are currently living in abusive situations. The words given by both Pastor Donald Hunter and Pastor Dana Hunter were so powerful and timely, encouraging victims/survivors to expose the violence (and its roots) and receive healing in the Name of Jesus. The dramatic presentation presented by Agenesis Williams with original poetry by Minister Kenya Harris was breath-taking... and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. This was truly a night of healing and deliverance. I believe I can say with confidence that Almighty God made His presence known that night and hearts/lives were changed.

Repentance Call Mission:
The Repentance Call (RC) mission trip to Mayfield, Kentucky, is taking place on May 13-14, 2022. Mayfield was devastated by the tornados that his multiple locations in December 2021. Please be in prayer for the team and for the people of Mayfield in advance. Some general guidelines for intercessors:

Pray for the churches/ministries in the host city:
• For laborers to be sent into the harvest. (Matt 8:38)
• To return to their first love and have the fire of God rekindled.
• To have God’s heart for the lost.
• Renewed desire to proclaim the gospel in their own city.
• To not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pray for the RC Team:
• All boldness and clarity to speak the Word of God. (Acts 4:29)
• Health and safety of the team.
• Spiritual preparation for the mission.
• Gentleness, patience, and humility to correct those who are in error. (2 Tim. 2:24-26)
• An open door for the Word to be preached. (Col. 4:2-4)
• To operate in unity and one accord.
• For the world to see the love of God through their love for each other.
Pray for the lost in the host city:
• To receive salvation, deliverance, baptism in the Holy Spirit, healing. These things are the will of God, therefore we can ask with boldness.
• To break the spiritual blindness that stops them from seeing and receiving the light of the glory of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 4:4)
• Spiritual thirst. (John 4:13-15)
• Ears to hear and hearts to receive. (Luke 8:11-15)
• To receive the truth of God’s impending judgment and to realize that His goodness is drawing them to repentance. (Romans 2:4)

Servant's Heart Outreaches
Homeless ministries and other local outreaches are ongoing. Jesus said that the poor will always be with us. And it is our responsibility to reach out to those in need. We are always accepting donations of food, clothing, personal hygiene items, blankets, coats, backpacks... you know the drill!
|
We are assembling care packs to have available at all times for giving as led and able. All sorts of items are needed: wash cloth, wipes, soap, shampoo, conditioner, razors, deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brushes, socks, sunscreen, bug spray, dental floss, hair brushes, combs, lotion, grooming products like nail clippers and files, maxi pads, tampons etc etc etc…. These items are needed all the time, so any donation of these items are one way to help our organization!!!
