Editor's Heart for July/August 2022
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

So many times, we look at this passage of Scripture and we talk about trusting the Lord or we talk about His directing our paths. We somehow slide over the leaning and acknowledging parts. So lets talk about that leaning part. What does it mean to LEAN NOT on your own understanding? First we have to know what it means to "lean on" something before we can know how and why to "lean not" on something. (You'll have to forgive me for being a bit "teachy" right now.) To lean on (in both Strong's concordance AND the dictionary) means to support yourself with or rest your weight on a thing/person. (Think about using a cane or a crutch to lean your weight on when your leg or foot is injured.) The whole phrase in the passage about "leaning" is: Lean NOT on your own understanding. The concept of understanding can be defined in this context as intelligence, knowledge, experience, and wisdom -- all of which lead us to knowing and doing what is right. So basically, the Lord is saying don't rest your weight (support yourself) on YOUR intelligence, knowledge, experience, and wisdom. Why?? Because no matter how intelligent, knowledgeable, experienced, or wise you are, GOD IS MORESO! So we MUST acknowledge (recognize His rights, authority, and status) Him in all our ways (every area of our lives) to receive His wisdom and direction. At a time when our world is in such dire need of wisdom, it's time for people to start trusting in, leaning on, and humbly acknowledging the Lord, Almighty God, Creator of all that exists! Can I get an "Amen"?

Father, search our hearts and reveal any areas/issues where we've been leaning on our own understanding. Teach us to trust in You with ALL our hearts. We desperately need you to direct our paths, now and always. In Jesus beautiful Name we pray, Amen!

Praise Reports
The RC mission trip to Washington DC in July was a spiritual commentary on the condition of our nation. There was so much in evidence that truly grieves the heart of God. Many people had never heard the truth about Jesus or the unadulterated message of the Gospel. Many people didn't want to talk about God or the Bible or anything else of spiritual significance. Those who knew about Jesus openly chose to reject his message, not wanting to even stop for a few minutes to hear.

We encountered a young woman who was signed up to go on a mission trip, but was scared to talk about her faith publicly. So we were able to encourage her in overcoming that spirit of fear. And, as on every trip we've taken so far, there were those few who received the message with gladness, turned to God in repentance, and were cleansed by the blood of Jesus!

Every time we go on a Repentance Call mission trip, God meets us there and is faithful to His Word and His ways!

Repentance Call Mission:
The next Repentance Call (RC) mission trip is taking place on Friday, 09/23/2022, and Saturday, 09/24/2022. We greatly need prayer warriors to come alongside us and cover us with prayer. Some general guidelines for intercessors:
|
Pray for the churches/ministries in the host city:
• For laborers to be sent into the harvest. (Matt 8:38)
• To return to their first love and have the fire of God rekindled.
• To have God’s heart for the lost.
• Renewed desire to proclaim the gospel in their own city.
• To not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pray for the RC Team:
• All boldness and clarity to speak the Word of God. (Acts 4:29)
• Health and safety of the team.
• Spiritual preparation for the mission.
• Gentleness, patience, and humility to correct those who are in error. (2 Tim. 2:24-26)
• An open door for the Word to be preached. (Col. 4:2-4)
• To operate in unity and one accord as a team.
• For the world to see the love of God through their love for each other.

• For all financial needs for the mission trip to be met.
|
Pray for the lost in the host city:
• To receive salvation, deliverance, baptism in the Holy Spirit, healing. These things are the will of God, therefore we can ask with boldness.
• To break the spiritual blindness that stops them from seeing and receiving the light of the glory of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 4:4)
• Spiritual thirst. (John 4:13-15)
• Ears to hear and hearts to receive. (Luke 8:11-15)
• To receive the truth of God’s impending judgment and to realize that His goodness is drawing them to repentance. (Romans 2:4)

Servant's Heart Outreaches
Homeless ministries and other local outreaches are ongoing. Jesus said that the poor will always be with us. And it is our responsibility to reach out to those in need. We are always accepting donations of food, clothing, personal hygiene items, blankets, coats, backpacks... you know the drill!
|
We are assembling care packs to have available at all times for giving as led and able. All sorts of items are needed: wash cloth, wipes, soap, shampoo, conditioner, razors, deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brushes, socks, sunscreen, bug spray, dental floss, hair brushes, combs, lotion, grooming products like nail clippers and files, maxi pads, tampons etc etc etc…. These items are needed all the time, so any donation of these items are one way to help our organization!!!
