Jesus, I will follow You wherever You may lead!

Editor's Heart for August 2023

Peter, seeing him [John], said to Jesus, "But Lord, what about this man?" Jesus said to him, "If I will that he remain till I come, what [is that] to you? You follow Me."

~ John 21:21-22 (NKJV)

But Lord... How many of our conversations with God include this phrase? But Lord, what about so-and-so? Why isn't she required to [fill in the blank]? Or why do you let him do [fill in the blank]? What about him/her? And like Jesus' response to Peter, He also says to us, "What is that to you?" Don't concern yourselves, beloved, with matters pertaining to some other brother's or sister's walk with God. (NOT talking about someone living in open sin/rebellion.) When the goodness/kindness of God moves on our hearts and He draws us into reconciliation, He calls us individually. When He performs acts of healing, deliverance, mercy, etc., He moves on us individually. When He illuminates His Word in our hearts, He does so individually.

He has given us His written [logos] Word and He gives His inspired/illuminated Word [rhema] to transform us, guide us, give light to our path, bring His will into play in our lives. So yes, He moves on the Body of Christ as a whole; but so much of His work is done on an individual level. Let us move forward... away from focusing on what is happening with someone else, away from comparing our lives & our walks, with that of others, away from all the mental gymnastics that distract and defocus us. Let us fix our hearts and minds on Jesus and FOLLOW HIM!

Repentance Call Mission Trips

A Repentance Call (RC) mission trips are in the planning phases. Keep intercession going for every future destination!

Pray for the churches/ministries in the host city:
• For laborers to be sent into the harvest. (Matt 8:38)
• To return to their first love and have the fire of God rekindled.
• To have God’s heart for the lost.
• Renewed desire to proclaim the gospel in their own city.
• To not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pray for the RC Team:
• All boldness and clarity to speak the Word of God. (Acts 4:29)
• Health and safety of the team.
• Spiritual preparation for the mission.
• Gentleness, patience, and humility to correct those who are in error. (2 Tim. 2:24-26)
• An open door for the Word to be preached. (Col. 4:2-4)
• To operate in unity and one accord as a team.
• For the world to see the love of God through their love for each other.

• For all financial needs for the mission trip to be met.

Pray for the lost in the host city:
• To receive salvation, deliverance, baptism in the Holy Spirit, healing. These things are the will of God, therefore we can ask with boldness.
• To break the spiritual blindness that stops them from seeing and receiving the light of the glory of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 4:4)
• Spiritual thirst. (John 4:13-15)
• Ears to hear and hearts to receive. (Luke 8:11-15)
• To receive the truth of God’s impending judgment and to realize that His goodness is drawing them to repentance. (Romans 2:4)

Things that are needed for every mission trip include hotel/motel rooms for team members, transportation costs (rental vehicle and/or gas), food, gospel tracts, other handouts, etc.

Back to the Basics

Breathe L.I.F.E. is resuming some of our foundational outreaches: moonlight ministry; homeless outreaches with food, clothes, and other supplies; park and pray; back to school drives, etc. Follow us on social media (links below), subscribe to this newsletter, and visit our website to stay informed and get involved!

NOTE and a wink: There are many ways to get involved, not just sowing a financial seed! Reach out to find out!

In support of others in the Body of Christ, Breathe L.I.F.E. will be including shout outs to local churches, ministries, and Christian-owned businesses. If you or someone you know of would like to be "shouted", give ME a holler! We want to show our support of the Body of Christ as a whole!

There is ALWAYS a need...

We are assembling care packs to have available at all times for giving as led and able. All sorts of items are needed: wash cloth, wipes, soap, shampoo, conditioner, razors, deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brushes, socks, sunscreen, bug spray, dental floss, hair brushes, combs, lotion, grooming products like nail clippers and files, maxi pads, tampons etc etc etc… and Gospel tracts. Not only do these care packs distribute essential personal items to those in need, they open a door for talking about Jesus.

I'd also like to mention that as needs are brought to us, we post on social media to give all an opportunity to meet those needs. If YOU or someone you know has an immediate need, please reach out by any of the means mentioned in this newsletter. We thank those who have sown in the past.
