Editor's Heart for September 2022

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

~ Colossians 3:1-3 (NKJV)
Many Scriptures talk about our need to control our own minds. The things we ALLOW our minds to dwell on determine the course we will take in life. It's really hard... maybe even impossible... to be mean, hateful, unkind, unforgiving, if we have our minds set on "things above." It's hard to do wrong when we are seeking heavenly things. And this verse makes it very clear that I determine what is "on my mind." How can I say that, you may ask? If the thoughts in my mind were beyond my control, the Scripture wouldn't tell me to set my mind. Take control of YOUR mind today! IF you were raised with Christ... IF you belong to Him... seek Him and those things which are where He is! Set YOUR mind by an act of your own will, empowered by the Holy Spirit who lives within you!

Father, cause us to seek You, to seek heavenly things rather than earthly things. Teach us to control our wandering minds so we can truly walk in freedom. In Jesus name, amen!
What's on your mind?

Praise Reports

The Repentance Call mission trip to Illinois took place from Friday, 09/29 to Monday, 10/03. It's amazing (in a heartbreaking kind of way) that no matter where we go, we find people who have never heard the Gospel and people who have made the choice to reject the Gospel. We live in a country where we can openly preach the Word of God without fear of the type of persecution that goes on in other countries. We don't have to fear being imprisoned or put to death for taking a stand. In many places, it seems like there's a church on every corner. So how can there be people who haven't heard of Jesus? The church (in general) is asleep at the wheel! We've become more concerned about what goes on inside the building than outside our walls!

In Madison, IL, even though Roe vs. Wade has been overturned, there is an abortion clinic still operating openly. This clinic is one of those who provide late term abortions. And the Mayor is in favor of their staying open. We spoke to and prayed with two women there who decided to keep their babies! Praise God for his mercy and goodness!

Another heartbreaking thing is that those we spoke to of the older generation, who should be leading and teaching the younger generation, have basically given up. They said things like, "These young people ain’t worth dealing with, they are all about the streets and we don’t have time for that or them!" Father, forgive us and light the fire in our hearts again to reach young people for your kingdom!

But GOD, hallelujah! God always demonstrates His faithfulness too on these trips. God spoke a word that there was a woman in the store in need of healing and sent the team into the store to find her. God spoke the word of healing to her and she received it in Jesus' name! She had already accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, and was happy to know Him as her Healer as well!

Repentance Call Mission:

The next Repentance Call (RC) mission trip is taking place on Friday, 11/11/2022, through Sunday, 11/13/2022. We greatly need prayer warriors to come alongside us and cover us with prayer. Some general guidelines for intercessors:

Pray for the churches/ministries in the host city:
• For laborers to be sent into the harvest. (Matt 8:38)
• To return to their first love and have the fire of God rekindled.
• To have God’s heart for the lost.
• Renewed desire to proclaim the gospel in their own city.
• To not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pray for the RC Team:
• All boldness and clarity to speak the Word of God. (Acts 4:29)
• Health and safety of the team.
• Spiritual preparation for the mission.
• Gentleness, patience, and humility to correct those who are in error. (2 Tim. 2:24-26)
• An open door for the Word to be preached. (Col. 4:2-4)
• To operate in unity and one accord as a team.
• For the world to see the love of God through their love for each other.
• For all financial needs for the mission trip to be met.

Pray for the lost in the host city:
• To receive salvation, deliverance, baptism in the Holy Spirit, healing. These things are the will of God, therefore we can ask with boldness.
• To break the spiritual blindness that stops them from seeing and receiving the light of the glory of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 4:4)
• Spiritual thirst. (John 4:13-15)
• Ears to hear and hearts to receive. (Luke 8:11-15)
• To receive the truth of God’s impending judgment and to realize that His goodness is drawing them to repentance. (Romans 2:4)
